My Experience with Learning Internet Marking and Passing the Google AdWords Exam
Hello! My name is Bethany, and I am the new Marketing Intern here at TriMark Solutions. I just graduated this May from Liberty University with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, concentrating in Advertising and Public Relations. I have been interning for a little over three weeks, learning an array of practices, from SEO reporting to social networking to Google AdWords. However, I feel as though all the knowledge I have gained is only an inkling of what’s to come.
While not everything I have done has been the most riveting of activities (data entry, not exactly my forté), I find myself with always something to do. My desk is located between our two PPC marketers, Jake and Cameron, and it’s been incredibly beneficial for me to “eavesdrop” on their conversations. Listening to them discuss how to overcome problem areas, strategizing ideas to execute ads with them, and helping to manage accounts overall has been the most profitable form of learning for me. Everyone is very willing to take some time out of their day to teach me.
One of the biggest parts of my internship was for me to take and pass the Google AdWords Fundamentals exam. When Randy and I first hashed out the plans and schedule for my internship, we decided that I would take the exam my last week (which is at the end of July). However, both Randy and I are the types of people who just have to get stuff done, so we decided that instead of giving me ten weeks to prepare, I would get two.
Luckily, in the midst of managing accounts on Google AdWords, researching search engine rankings, and finding various leads, I was given ample time to study and learn. Also, Dylan, who has just passed not 6 months ago, was extremely helpful in giving me advice on how questions were worded, how long to spend on each question, and other strategic practices. Finally, the day came. And, unbeknownst to all (I believe the overall consensus in the office was for me to get a 78%), I passed!
With all of the encouragement and support from the guys, that will definitely be one of the highlights of my internship. Now that I have that under my belt, I’m looking forward to gaining an even greater knowledge of PPC marketing, SEO, and taking that second exam to become a Qualified Individual. More to come!
Tell me, what was your best experience as an intern?

Well Bethany congratulations, but how did u passed the exam with a score of 78%. According to my knowledge the passing score is 85%. N Sorry Dylan i found this post as an advertisement for your office. She hardly speaks in regards with Adwords. Ne ways… All d best guys and plz post some useful comments……!!!
Hey Naresh,
Thanks for the congratulations! I did pass with a score of 85%, but everyone in the office had an on-going bet that I would make a 78%. Sorry that was a little unclear. Also, I know I only speak a little about the exam in this post, but this was more of an introductory post of my experience so far. I’m trying to help other recent college grad students know what to expect when they take an internship. If you’re interested in advice for the exam, try looking at a Dylan’s post from a couple of months back. And as we both study for the Google Advanced exams, we’ll keep you posted!
Congrats Bethany, I have searched a lot to find list of adword questions but not successful to find such stuff do you know about any website that provide such type of questions except ipassexam.com thanks in advance for your cooperation.
Hello Muhammad,
On another of TriMark’s blog posts regarding passing the Google AdWords Exam, we have had a lot of feedback from test takers who have offered up AdWords exam sample questions and quizzes. Please visit our other blog post and look at the recent comments, as one commenter was kind enough to post a link to a very valuable site containing sample Google AdWords questions!

Hi Dylan,
I actually have some problems with Google AdWords exam is that I’ve never been working on it before and I’ve never ever managed any AdWords campaigns. But in the exam material, they talk a lot about MDO and MDS and you know that it’s not easy for me to join in MDS program. I have no ideas whether there is MDS or MDO in the Advanced exam?
Suri
Suri,
There are many questions on the MCC and all of its options on the AdWords exams, although I don’t think there are many questions relating directly to Manager defined spend. For more information, I would suggest you check out our other Google AdWords Exam Blog. There are a lot of useful info and comments that you may find helpful.
Thanks Suri, and good luck!
Hi everyone,
I was interested in taking an AdWords internship. However, I reside outside the US and I am not sure as to how I should go about this. There are not that many local firms that are involved in this field. I am currently preparing for the certification test, and have completed the entire course material. Having the AdWords course under my belt coupled with reading entire books such as “Advanced AdWords” by Brad Geddis, in addition to various sources such as iPass website, I trust that passing the exam(s) would be a breeze. But everyone says getting certified is futile and one should focus on gaining experience. If I get the right experience, I am even ready to work free of charge in return. Please let me know if you can guide me on this and you have my appreciation.
Hello James,
Thanks for the comment. First off, I would definitely NOT agree that obtaining Google AdWords Certification is futile. It may not necessarily mean that you better at managing an account than an un-certified professional who has been working in AdWords for 3-4 years, but it does mean that you understand the basic principles of AdWords, and that you have the work ethic to study for and pass a demanding exam.
As I have with many other comments on this blog, I would suggest you visit our other blog post on Passing the Google Fundamentals Exam. There is a lot of great information in the post and comments that I think would benefit you. Thanks James, Good Luck!
